The Company
As manufacturers of roof and floor truss systems, we have been providing custom design and fabrication for the residential and commercial building trades since 1988. We identify ourselves by the service provided to our customers and the quality built into our products.
Our mission is simple: complete customer satisfaction. We feel we have accomplished this mission as our customers are our only salespersons.
The Products
Roof Trusses
We are often asked how large a truss can be fabricated at Wiregrass Truss. We will build a truss in one piece that can clear span 75 feet. Larger trusses can be engineered and built; however, these monsters make transportation a bit difficult. In these cases, we will design separate parts of the truss that are then plated together in the field.
Our engineering services as well as the truss plates used in fabrication are provided by Alpine Engineered Products.
Floor Trusses
We also design and build floor trusses. These versatile floor joists are open webbed to facilitate plumbing and hvac contractors to "hide" their components in the floor system. Most floor trusses are built with a chase allowing air conditioning duct to be run through the second floor's trusses. This practice eliminates the need of furring down areas of the first floor ceiling.
Our floor trusses are built to fit, as they do not require any field cutting. By utilizing a 4x2 design (the two by fours are laid flat in fabrication), the builder has a 3-1/2" nailing surface for attatching plywood.
The People
Design
Much of Wiregrass Truss' success can be attributed to one gentleman - our truss designer - Kelly Nelson. Mr. Nelson has an incredible knack for visualizing a two dimensional plan into its final three dimensional form. He handles complexity of design as a riddle-like challenge. Often times he is consulted by area architects, building inspectors and contractors for advice on design. Mr. Nelson expends considerable effort in designing our truss systems to reducreduce labor and costs for our customers.
Delivery
In our product description above, we boasted a bit about our ability to fabricate 75' trusses. Well, designing and building these large trusses takes a bit of effort, but getting them to the job site is another story. Our driver, Harold V. Nelson, III (we call him Harry), has managed to pull off this incredible feat for years. The fact that one of our delivery trucks is equipped with a trailer that stretches to a length of 60' helps, but it takes a special talent to manuever a 75' load around a 90 degree turn. That's Harry.

Fabrication
We are proud to have assembled the finest group of fabricators whose combined efforts and experience make up the backbone of our company. They are responsible for our 100% on time deliveries.
Our fabricators are led by three gentlemen who have risen from within the ranks and lend their learned talents to the team. Together, these men have over 75 years experience in the truss industry and we consider them the best in the business. Their commitment to quality is assured. They sign their names on every truss built!
Management
Our company is managed by Priscilla Isler. With such a capable and self-motivated staff, Ms. Isler's management duties are minimal. She is responsible for production scheduling and financial management.
In Memoriam
For several years, Wiregrass Truss Company, Inc. was fortunate to have one gentleman responsible for most of the bookkeeping, invoicing, and accounting functions for the company - Septime Severous Richard.
Col. Richard died on February 7, 1998 at the age of 83. If you had been afforded the opportunity to have ever met him, you would not be surprised to learn that he worked on the 6th. Utilizing Microsoft's Office97 technologies, he performed his duties in record time and with incredible accuracy. We have been extremely proud to share this time with such a true gentleman.
